What are signs of parental monitoring computer software?

What are signs of computer monitoring software, like parental monitoring?
What are signs to look for to know if your computer has monitoring software, like screenshot programs to track activity? Most of these programs are made to be undetectable so what are folders to look in/tells that it has been installed on your computer? Will all programs be listed in the “add or remove programs” panel or is it possible to make some not show up? I need answers to all these questions, thanks so much if you can help. Will give best answer!

i’m pretty sure they all show up. just go to programs and see if there is any spyware programs. or just ask your parents? unless you have a guilty conscience

  2. n b says:

There will be no signs as they are a hidden layer in the background.

  3. EXPECTING says:

Its all hidden so you can’t see it. Doing something you don’t want your parents to know about?

  4. James says:

If these programs were installed correctly, you will not have access to them as they will be hidden.

Also, you will not have the rights to open them or do anything with them. If a keylogger is installed, you should know that this very question that you asked will be reviewed, and steps will be taken to make the computer even MORE secure than it is now!

If your parent installed some kind of monitoring program on your computer, chances are that it will be very difficult to remove without a password. KidsWatch is a popular parental monitoring program. If you have KidsWatched installed on your computer, you should see a yellow clock on your taskbar.

first signs would any unusual icons or newly installed programs. No program is undetectqable they will all show up in add or remove programs other wise how would they in teh future remove the program. To make these things not show up click on the top, tools>Internet Optins>Delete>Delete All or just click delete to each one.

  7. Stryker says:

Many of them are completely undetectable unless you know the right command prompt request and password. To hide your keystrokes use a keystroke encryptor, but that might raise suspicions with your parents, but would force them to admit using the software.

If you can’t disable it from running, reformatting your PC will definitely wipe it.

Good luck with that though =O

search add or remove programs. it has to be on their. it is impossible for it to go undetected. check documents and my computer. check all folders in their.

As a software engineer, I know that it is quite simple to create a monitoring application that runs completely hidden and leaves virtually no visible traces on the system; i.e., no entry on Add/Remove Programs, doesn’t show up in Task Manager (Ctrl-Alt-Delete), doesn’t have a folder in Program Files, no Start Menu or Desktop icons, encrypted/hidden Registry entries, and the list goes on. If you have a working knowledge of C or C++, you might write your own scanning application that can “look” down below the shell level, but for the average user, it can be almost hopeless. If you want, you can email me and I can give you an overview of what to do, and where to look, but you should keep in mind that (assuming you do have monitoring software installed) whatever you send me may be monitored as well. If you want a keystroke encryptor (to befuddle keyloggers) there is an excellent FireFox addon called KeyScrambler. It can be downloaded from Mozilla’s website at https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/3383
